Dead Kennedys and their rebellious music and messages have been a constant source of inspiration for us.

One of their most impactful performances was the “Pull My Strings” live where the band wore shirts and tie combo that symbolized the dollar signs tied to their necks which complimented the irreverent and sarcastic lyrics of the song.

However, keeping punk attitudes towards the powers that be is getting more difficult due to deepening wealth disparities and succumbing to the powerful hands of the string pullers like Amazon’s Jeff Bezos is one of the few options average people are left with.

Amazon is infamous for treating their workers poorly and the recent tragedies at their warehouse collapses showed how they put profits over basic human rights.

Despite the criticism, the string puller behind the giant is basking in his wealth and celebrity and the company’s grip on consumer culture is only getting stronger. 

The Dead Bezos piece reflects this sad reality by combining the images of Bezos and Dead Kennedys into a sinister graphic.
